Hedwig is a glam rock musical about a fictional rock n' roll band lead by an East German Transgender singer. It tells his/her story about her botched sex change operation and finding love (or not so much...) It sounds freaking weird but it'll make you cry! They made it into a movie so rent it on Netflix.
